What We Believe

• In essential beliefs—we have unity.

“There is one body and one Spirit…one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”                      (Ephesians 4:4-6)

Our Statement of Faith (the essentials we believe) is contained in the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message (www.sbc.net/bfm).

• In non-essential beliefs—we have liberty.

“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters…Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls…So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God…So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.”

(Romans 14:1,4a,12,22a)

• In all other beliefs—we show love.

“If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.”

(1 Corinthians 13:2)

Southern Baptist Convention

We are part of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC). The SBC is a diverse association of churches who all agree on the basic tenets of Christianity and are thoroughly grounded in God’s Word. Yet they are remarkably diverse in the particular way each congregation has determined how they will carry out God’s plan.
